Cotopaxi & the Avenue of Volcanoes

A near-symmetrical snow-capped volcano among a corridor of high peaks down the Andes.

Cotopaxi is one of the world’s highest active volcanoes (5,897 m), a near-perfect snow-capped cone that anchors the “Avenue of Volcanoes” — the corridor of giant peaks running down central Ecuador.

You can drive and hike high on its flanks, with páramo grassland and wild horses below the glacier.
