San Blas (Guna Yala)

Hundreds of palm-fringed turquoise islands governed by the Indigenous Guna — and a popular sail route around the Darién.

The San Blas archipelago is a scatter of hundreds of tiny palm-topped islands in impossibly clear turquoise water, governed autonomously by the Indigenous Guna people.

It’s also the scenic way the crew can cross the Darién Gap — a multi-day sailboat charter to Colombia while the van ships separately.
