Ruta 40

The legendary 5,000 km highway running the length of the Andes down to Patagonia.

Argentina’s Ruta 40 runs more than 5,000 km along the spine of the Andes, from the Bolivian border to deep Patagonia — past vineyards, deserts, salt flats, and glaciers.

It’s the country’s great road-trip artery, and much of our southern leg follows it.
